  DOES THE BIBLE really really EXIST?

  the bible did not exist in jesus' day nor in the lifespan of his apostles.. people didn't walk around with one (bible) tucked under their arm.. christians didn't carry one (bible) door to door for preaching and teaching.. the closest thing to the bible was the septuigint greek translation of hebrew scriptures which not one person in a 10,000 had ever seen!.

  I think you're pretty much right on. THE Bible, as God's Word to humankind, does not really exist. IF it was given under inspiration to the writers, where are those documents? Gone. If they were so important, why let them disappear? So that faith is necessary, is a possible answer, but that begs the question: Why does God need us to have faith when he could simply show up and show himself? What purpose does it serve HIM? Or US? None. It only serves religious masters, as far as I can see.

  i was wondering if the real reason for all the wtbts anti facebook nonsense was because they have a financial interest in my space.. the reason for this is that although some jws i know have closed their facebook accounts they are now mysteriously popping up on my space.. .

  I didn't watch the youtubes but I've read the gospel of Judas along with some analysis before. I find the story and it's gnostic interpretation just as likely as anything else written about Jesus.

  yadda, what is your evidence that 130=180 is "way after the canonical gospels?"

  To me right now, and I'm happy to be corrected on this, the gospels, both in and out of the canon are like getting a couple dozen of us together to write the story of Harry Truman. We'd agree that he was president after Roosevelt, that he made the call to drop the bombs, that he was president at the end of WWII. But to start a relatively solid Truman cult they'd have to find four or five of us who's documents agreed on a significant number of details and more importantly, demonize the rest.

  Seriously, when Paul wrote: "All scripture is inspired of God..." did the NT even exist? And if it did, was it considered scripture? He wasn't even talking about those writings.

  Did you start out as a "Reformer"?

  how many of you started out down this road as someone who knew there were lots of problems and holes in the doctrine of the religion but wanted to be "part of the solution" as what i would call a "reformer"?.

  for a long time, i wanted to be an outstanding elder since i thought so many of them were @$$holes, but i found out after a while the majority of the good ones are chewed up and spitten out in the organization.the others who start out with the right motives either fall in line or get run over.. unfortunately, i kept that delusion up for many years - and just about killed myself doing it.

  thats when the light went on and i finally figured out why i was so miserable doing it - it was all for naught - you cant change it.

  I read about people taking years to go through the process of figuring out that reform is impossible but I feel like for me, it was the hard line authoritarianism that was key to my investigating other things in the first place. I had no thought of reform really because it was the realization that those at the top have no interest in the views of those beneath them that got me started on my journey.

  I feel like I'm on a fast track to DF though. I can barely stand the meetings and can hardly keep my disdain from bursting out whenever I'm around any of the people from the KH.

  the wife is off to do a course somewhere south of the border for a few weeks and mil hasn't been on top form recently and so i will be looking after her, the dogs and the cats and working!

  will this witness throw a murder trial?.

  after the trial ended for the day tuesday, reese spoke with the attorneys about a potential problem: the only black juror, a female, also is a jehovah's witness.
